Cel puţin şapte oameni au murit după declanşarea unui incendiu pe un feribot, în Filipine. 120 de pasageri au fost salvați, ei fiind nevoiţi să sară peste bord, potrivit declarațiilor transmise de paza de coastă şi de martori, transmite Digi24.
Incendiul a izbucnit pe Mercraft 2 în timp ce transporta 124 de pasageri de pe insula Polillo spre Real, provincia Quezon, pe insula principală Luzon.
Şapte persoane au murit şi 120 au fost salvate, a declarat purtătorul de cuvânt al Gărzii de Coastă din Filipine, Armando Balilo. Operaţiunile de căutare pentru găsirea supravieţuitorilor sunt în desfăşurare.
Căpitanul Brunette Azagra, a cărui navă se afla la 500 de metri de Mercraft când a izbucnit incendiul, a declarat că echipajul său a salvat 40 de oameni.
Cel puţin 21 de persoane au fost internate în spital, a precizat Ricky Poblete, responsabil cu gestionarea dezastrelor în oraşul Real.
